Sistas with Strands is a group of fabulous, black women working together in effort to change the way people perceive black women and their hair. We aim to dispel myths that black women can't have healthy, long hair. We intend to showcase black women with healthy hair at a variety of hair types, textures, colors, lengths, and state (relaxed, natural, bkt'd, texlaxed, loc'd). It is also our goal to help promote black-owned businesses.

In conjunction with Sistas with Strands, this group will help educate, promote, inspire, and encourage black women to grow and nurture their hair. It is our hope that healthy hair practices learned and promoted will be extended to our next generation of "Sistas", our daughters, sisters, grandkids. We can prove to be a driving force to help inspire the next generation to love and appreciate the unique beauty of their natural hair. If their personal decision is to relax their hair, we want to serve as a resource to provide the necessary knowledge and techniques to have healthy, long hair.
